Robben Island: Visit the former prison where Nelson Mandela was held for 18 years, learning about his struggle for freedom and the broader fight against apartheid.

Safari/Conservation
Of course no tour to South Africa is complete without a safari. We will take you onto game reserves to see the “Big 5” and also learn about conservation of some of these animals.
Visit a conservation reserve saving lions from “canned hunting” and petting zoos.
South Africa’s history of apartheid—an institutionalised system of racial segregation and oppression—offers vital lessons in the pursuit of equality and justice. Students will visit powerful sites that highlight the struggle for freedom, civil rights, and reconciliation, gaining firsthand insight into this pivotal period of modern history. We will retrace the footsteps of Nelson Mandela from local lawyer, to freedom fighter and prisoner, through to the leader and father of the nation.
This 14 day tour program includes international flights ex Australia, Internal flights in South Africa, accommodation in 3 star hotels throughout, transfers, most meals, entry fees to most museums and attractions, a day safari and travel insurance.
Departures for exclusive school groups are available all year round. Available to exclusive school groups, or for students and teachers to be a part of our own “Walk the Ground” group featuring individual students from across Australia coming together, forming new friendships and learning together. Our “walk the ground” group will be departing during the school holidays between terms one and two in 2027.
Tour costs include international flights from Australia, accomodation in 3 star hotels throughout, breakfast daily, transfers, entry fees to most attractions and expert local guides, as well as experienced staff to lead students throughout.
