FAQs
What types of accommodations and transportation options do you provide?
We always provide at least 3-star hotels for accommodation. For most tours, we will have chartered coaches to transport us to the majority of the sites. However, in some larger cities and to give students an authentic experience, we may utilize local metro systems and other forms of public transportation, especially in Europe. Our dedicated team ensures smooth travel logistics, guaranteeing a stress-free experience for both students and teachers.
Can I pay my tour cost off over time ?
Of course! Structured instalments are set up to allow you to pay of your tour cost and you do not have to pay for your tour cost upfront in one lump sum. Families also have access to the “travel pay later” scheme, subject to approval, which allows you up to 12 months interest free for your tour payment.
Are there any visa or documentation requirements for the destination we are traveling to?
Several of our destinations require visas or electronic travel authorities for entry. The Wanderers Australia team will inform all students and families of any requirements ion a comprehensive information pack which you will have access well before departure
What is the student-to-adult staff ratio on your tours and their experience ?
Our average minimum ratio is one staff member to every eight participants. All staff must have a working with children check and be senior first aid qualified. The bulk of our staff are experienced modern history teachers who have a passion for being able to “walk the ground”
How do you handle emergency situations and medical needs during the tour?
We are constantly evaluating and re-evaluating the safety of each of our destinations and activities. We subscribe to security alerts, and Wanderers Australia always reserves the right to modify or cancel an itinerary if we feel that conditions are unsafe, even mid-tour. We monitor Smart traveller, as well as the equivalent sites in the US, the UK and NZ as well as our own experienced in country contacts to advise of local conditions both before and during our “Walk The Ground” program.
If a student becomes ill while on a program we will notify the parents immediately and make sure the participant is given the medical attention they need as quickly as possible, including a doctor or visit to the closest appropriate medical facility. Parents will be looped in with constant communication and updates in consultation with Wanderers Australia and our insurance assistance team
